ZapVPN ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the ZapVPN Android application.

1. Information We Collect

We do NOT collect or store:

VPN traffic content or browsing history
DNS queries made through the VPN tunnel
Your real IP address on our VPN servers
Timestamps of when you connect or disconnect

We may collect the following non-personal information:

Crash reports – via Firebase Crashlytics, to fix bugs and improve stability
Anonymous usage analytics – via Firebase Analytics (e.g., which screens are opened, feature interactions)
Subscription status – via RevenueCat, to validate your premium access (no payment card data is stored by us)
Advertising identifiers – via Google AdMob, used to show ads to free-tier users (subject to your consent)

2. VPN Service

ZapVPN uses the WireGuard® protocol to establish encrypted VPN tunnels. Our servers act as intermediaries between you and the internet. We operate a strict no-logs policy: we do not record, monitor, or store any data about your network activity while connected to our VPN.

3. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are integrated in ZapVPN:

Google AdMob – displays ads to free users

Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics – anonymous analytics and crash reporting

RevenueCat – subscription management and receipt validation

Google Play Billing – processes in-app purchases

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing data use. We encourage you to review them.

4. Advertising & Consent (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, as required by GDPR. You can withdraw or update your consent at any time through the app settings. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized ads.

Premium subscribers are not shown advertisements.

5. Data Retention

We retain crash reports and analytics data only as long as necessary to improve the app. No VPN connection logs are ever created or stored. Subscription records are retained as required by applicable law.

6. Children's Privacy

ZapVPN is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Security

All communication between the app and our backend servers uses HTTPS with TLS encryption. VPN tunnels are encrypted using WireGuard's state-of-the-art cryptography (ChaCha20, Poly1305, Curve25519).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ZapVPN after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
